Shakespeare In Performance 2012

Friday, Feb 24th – Sat Feb 25th, 2012

A 12-hour (total) intensive, focusing on Shakespearean text in performance. An opportunity to polish your Shakespeare Monologue and technique with classical actor/director Jeremy Webb.

Twelve participants will spend Friday evening and all day Saturday exploring Shakespearean text and methods of bringing it to life: text-study, themes, vocal technique, movement …and life!

Participants will be given a Shakespearean monologue if they do not have one on day 1. A memorized monologue (2 minutes) would be useful!
Webb trained at the UK’s Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He won the 2008 Merritt for playing Iago in Othello (for Shakespeare By The Sea), played Friar Laurence in Neptune’s Romeo & Juliet in 2010. He played The Porter/Duncan in MacBeth, Don Amardo in Love’s Labour’s Lost (SBTS.) He has directed over a dozen Shakespeare plays and played in many. His play Shakespeare On Trial tours to theatres and schools.
